SOS Leak Detection, a leader in leak detection services for B2B, aimed to expand into the direct-to-consumer market. They partnered with connective3 to develop a launch strategy.
The Approach
SOS Leak Detection wanted to be distinctive, stand out in a crowded market, and use brand authority to dominate. Using our Maker Model strategy framework, the Strategy & Insights team discovered a significant opportunity to take advantage of.
OUR FINDINGS
Through our research, we found that 10% of households have hidden leaks, but people lack awareness about this. The data also revealed that the market is cluttered with independent plumbers or small leak detection services with generic advertising.
A focus group highlighted frustration with plumbers and their reliability. In addition to this, financial struggles meant that the working class didn’t have the money to ‘trial’ a new product.
While earnings have increased, real earnings have declined rapidly.
Households are struggling to pay their bills, using less water and less gas.
PROPOSED ACTIVITY
Recognising potential, we proposed creating a new modern website through a simplified interface and industry-first tools.
