Next week, students up and down the country will be preparing for freshers’ week and the start of university. Whereas fashion lovers will look toward London Fashion Week, and we’ll wave goodbye to summer and welcome the start of autumn.  

So, here’s everything going on between the 18th and the 25th of September to use for newsjacking and your PR campaigns! 

LONDON FASHION WEEK – 16TH SEPTEMBER-21St OF SEPTEMBER   

This is the first LFW since the pandemic beganthat will take place with virtually no restrictions. Showcasing looks for spring/summer 2022, the event this year will also be completely genderneutral.

START OF AUTUMN – 22ND OF SEPTEMBER 

That’s right, summer is officially over (if you’re reading this after Wednesday!). It’s time to get the big coats out and say hello to pumpkin spiced lattes, Halloween, and darker evenings.

NATIONAL FITNESS DAY – 22nd OF SEPTEMBER 

National Fitness Day takes place on Wednesday the 22nd of September, and aims to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for everyone to follow 

This could be the perfect opportunity to share any health and fitnessrelated contentor to provide tips if you work with a company that has a relevant expert in the field.   

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING – 24th OF SEPTEMBER 

The official date for the Macmillan ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ is Friday the 24th of September. However, you can host one of their coffee mornings at any time to raise money (and awareness).

FRESHERS WEEK/STUDENTS GO BACK TO UNIVERSITY – FROM THE 18th OF SEPTEMBER 

Whether heading to university for the first time or returning for a second or third year, this period will be the closest students have got to a normal university experience in over 18 months.  

Most freshers’ weeks are taking place from this weekend in cities like Leeds, Newcastle, and Liverpool. And so, this is the perfect opportunity for brands to share any helpful advice or tips for people that are maybe living on their own for the first time.
