Click&Boat is the world’s leading boat rental platform, connecting travellers with thousands of boats across destinations worldwide. Operating across multiple European markets, the brand wanted to strengthen its reputation as a trusted authority within the boating and travel space through high-impact Digital PR campaigns.
With strong competition across the sector, Click&Boat needed a Digital PR strategy that could consistently earn high-quality editorial coverage, strengthen brand authority and increase visibility across key European markets, focusing on the UK, Germany and France.
Click&Boat’s challenge was twofold: grow organic authority in competitive travel search results while building stronger brand recognition across France, Germany and the UK.
As search behaviour evolved, Click&Boat wanted to strengthen its visibility within AI-powered search experiences, including Google AI Overviews and large language models (LLMs), ensuring the brand was not only discoverable but recognised as a trusted authority when users searched for boating and travel recommendations across these markets.
The brand needed a Digital PR approach that went beyond one-off campaigns, creating a consistent pipeline of newsworthy stories that would resonate with different audiences and media landscapes.
- Increase high-quality referring domains through relevant digital coverage
- Increase the likelihood of Click&Boat being referenced and cited within AI-generated answers by strengthening third-party authority signals across priority markets
- Build brand authority across priority European markets
- Create campaigns that worked across multiple regions while still feeling locally relevant
- Generate coverage that positioned Click&Boat as a trusted expert in boating and travel
We developed an international Digital PR strategy combining data-led campaigns, proactive storytelling and market-specific media outreach.
Rather than relying on generic travel stories, we worked closely with Click&Boat to uncover proprietary insights from the brand’s own internal data, including booking trends, customer behaviour and platform insights. This allowed us to create more authoritative stories with a unique brand angle – giving journalists a reason to cover Click&Boat beyond standard travel commentary.
This approach also supported Click&Boat’s visibility within emerging AI search environments. By creating authoritative, third-party coverage with strong contextual brand signals, the strategy helped strengthen the information sources that AI systems rely on when generating travel recommendations and category answers.
By combining Click&Boat’s first-party data with wider search trends, seasonal travel moments and consumer interests, we created campaigns that aligned with what audiences were actively looking for and what journalists needed at the right time.
A successful international Digital PR strategy requires more than translating the same campaign across markets. We adapted our approach to each country’s media landscape, audience interests and seasonal search behaviour to maximise relevance and coverage opportunities.

Additional support
Alongside planned campaigns, the team also created proactive opportunities around relevant travel moments, allowing Click&Boat to maintain consistent media momentum throughout the year.
The strategy was tailored by market, recognising that different countries respond to different editorial hooks:
- France performed strongly with regionalised destination stories and localised headlines
- Germany responded best to practical, price-led travel insights
- The UK required stronger consumer hooks around trends, affordability and seasonal opportunities
The results
The Digital PR strategy exceeded expectations, delivering sustained international editorial visibility, stronger brand recognition and increased authority across traditional and AI-powered search environments.
Beyond traditional SEO outcomes, the campaign generated a +3.1K increase in AI citations within Google AI Overviews, demonstrating the impact of Digital PR in helping strengthen how Click&Boat is recognised and referenced within emerging search experiences. Using C3’s Brand Citation Score methodology, we measured the quality of Click&Boat’s earned visibility assessing how strongly the brand appeared within coverage, rather than simply counting mentions.
