Social SEO agency: Be discoverable across every platform

Boosting visibility where it matters most

From TikTok queries to Instagram recommendations, social media platforms have become powerful discovery engines, with people turning to them to find brands, products, and services. And it’s not just in-channel where social content can be found: Google indexes it in the SERPs, and so do certain LLMs, like ChatGPT, AI Mode, and AI Overviews (AIOs).

With AI search increasingly becoming more popular, a social search strategy has never been more important, because it doesn’t just influence whether your social content is surfaced – it can be the difference between your brand being mentioned or cited in prompts, or not.

For instance, ChatGPT leans on social influence and community recommendations to decide which brands to show in their queries; and there is a clear correlation between YouTube mentions and brand citations across AI Mode and AIOs.

If you want to stay competitive, you need to show up where audiences are actively looking; and that’s why social media is an essential part of any organic strategy. When your content is discoverable across social, you can expand reach and drive growth.

Our approach: Capture your audience where they are searching

While traditional search engines remain essential, Social SEO and LLM search have reshaped the search landscape. With audiences now browsing for answers on social media and AI, your SEO strategy needs to evolve.

We break your social SEO strategy into two strands: the first is keyword research across each individual social channel, to understand what users are searching for in the first place. We then overlay this with Google keyword data, to understand which searches are bringing back videos; before doing that all-important SERP analysis.

The second stage is understanding the LLMs that your customers are searching on, and whether social signals heavily influence brand citations and mentions on them. This research could uncover that YouTube content is key for you appearing in AI search, or that you need to build your brand sentiment on Reddit.

We know we can talk a big game sometimes – but we can back it up with results too.

Social search services

In-app social visibility

Before we pull together a social strategy, we first look to see what people are searching for across the likes of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and more, to help inform the ideas we pull together. We then combine this by understanding the video formats and content that rank for these keywords, alongside your engagement data to understand what resonates with your followers, to create a foolproof social SEO strategy – whether that’s spoken keywords in TikTok videos, or comprehensive YouTube descriptions. From viral hooks on TikTok or keyword-led hashtags on Instagram, we ensure every piece is built to perform.

LLM visibility

Using our proprietary SEO tool, Arise, we’ll look at the prompts that are important to your brand, which will enable us to see the LLMs your customers use – for example, if youre an ecommerce brand, ChatGPT, AI Mode and Gemini should be a focus; whereas for B2B brands, Claude and Perplexity are key. We can then understand the signals these LLMs use to surface brands, which will inform your social SEO strategy.

Google visibility

Your social content can earn placement not just in Google’s video carousels, but in AIOs and AI Mode too – and we do this by understanding the keywords that bring videos back, and optimising yours in-line with themWe’ll also map these out with your on-site content, embedding relevant videos into blogs, to boost engagement metrics like time on site, and reduce bounce rate.

Reddit

Reddit is one of the most cited sources across AI search, and is hugely influential when determining which brands to be sourced across AI. Our Reddit SEO strategies will help you to build up your brand sentiment in an authentic, positive way, to boost your AI share of voice; and we also scrape subreddits to help inform your on-site content strategies.

Influencer marketing

The most human way to connect with your audience, we’ll source and vet influencers that align with your brand, so that you can build authentic stories across social that resonate with your customers. Influencer marketing plays a big part in boosting your brand’s authority, which also helps you to be more visible across traditional Google and AI search.

Tailored and transparent reporting

For the longest time, social and organic reporting metrics were kept separate. You could see in-platform engagement metrics (which are still important), and organic traffic and conversions on-site, but you couldn’t see the role social played in that.

That’s now changing, with Search Console enabling you to not only see the search terms that lead people to your social channels; but clicks and impressions to site from specific posts.

Combine this with Arise, and keyword research platforms like Ahrefs and keywordtool.io; and not only can we understand the scope of search opportunity, but we can see the direct value social is having on organic search, and leading people directly to your site to convert.

FAQs

What is social SEO?

Social SEO is the practice of optimising your content so that it’s visible when people are searching for relevant queries across social channels, on Google, and LLMs. It goes beyond just posting content for engagement – it’s creating videos that boost your visibility in organic search, and gets users clicking through to your site and converting.

How is social SEO different to social media management?

Social media management refers to the process of creating and scheduling content, growing your followers, and engaging with them. Social SEO builds on that, by making sure your content is consumed by people other than your followers.

The two complement each other, but are different; with a Social Media Manager asking: “Will this video get lots of likes and comments?”, and a Social SEO Strategist asking: “Will someone find this video when they search for it in six months’ time?”

What social platforms should I prioritise?

There is no set rule: the social platform(s) you should prioritise will depend on where your customers are in the first place. For travel, fashion and beauty clients, TikTok and Instagram will be key, where they can search for inspiration and recommendations. Alternatively, if you’re a finance brand, YouTube could be key, with expert-led, in-depth answer-style content; or if you’re a B2B brand, LinkedIn will be valuable. Reddit will be crucial for nearly all sectors, given its value is more around enabling brands to be surfaced in AI search.

When you work with us on a social SEO strategy, we’ll map your audience’s search behaviour across each platform, before recommending focus channels.

How does social SEO affect my visibility in AI search?

Social SEO affects your AI visibility in two ways. The first, is optimised video content can be surfaced for relevant searches in the first place – particularly AI Mode, AIOs, and ChatGPT.

The second way is the influence it has on individual LLMs when determining which brands to mention and cite. Positive sentiment on Reddit, YouTube mentions and impressions, and knowledge graphs can all influence this, which will inform your social SEO strategy.

How do you measure social SEO success?

Increased engagement such as likes, shares and comments are one measure of success, because videos should see an increase in viewers, which should boost engagement.

However, social SEO goes beyond that: we’ll look at video rankings on Google and YouTube, clicks and impressions to site from social, and your increase in AI share of voice.

Do I need a separate social SEO strategy, or can it be part of my existing SEO or social retainer?

Social SEO can – and should – easily be incorporated to either retainer, especially if you have an existing SEO or GEO retainer with us. That being said, if you prefer to keep the social media management side of things in-house, we can easily offer social SEO as a standalone service, to help you get your content to rank.

Can you produce social content yourselves, or can you work with our in-house social team?

The answer is both! If you don’t have in-house capabilities, our content creators can do this for you – and we can source influencers too. Then, once videos have been produced, we pass this over to our social SEO specialists to optimise your content.

However, if you have an in-house social team, we can act on a consultancy basis, providing you with a calendar to implement, and advise you on how to optimise that content.
