It’s that time again… what’s coming up in the world of Digital PR next week.

From Pancake Day to Random Acts of Kindness Day, here are some upcoming opportunities you might want to utilise to your advantage.

SINGLE AWARENESS DAY, 15TH FEBRUARY

Don’t want your campaign to get lost amongst all Valentine’s Day content? It might be worth focusing on targeting singles instead of couples. After all, this is another major demographic that other brands are probably missing out on when targeting only those in a relationship with their Valentine’s Day content.

Whilst the acronym may spell out SAD (pretty ironic, right?), Singles Awareness Day is not about feeling upset or lonely, but rather celebrating your single status and focusing on yourself.

If you’re interested in Single Awareness Day, you can find out more here.

PANCAKE DAY, 16TH FEBRUARY

Pancake Day is one of those days that you never realise is coming up right until the last second. Well, here’s your official reminder that Pancake Day, aka Shrove Tuesday, is on February 16th this year.

Each year many use the day as an excuse to stuff their faces with their favourite pancakes and toppings (we sure do!). Best suited for food-related experts, content themes include top ways to flip (you could even find the UK’s top flipper), the nation’s favourite toppings, or whether people have them as their main meal or dessert (this proved to be an interesting discussion here at c3!).

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY, 17th FEBRUARY

If there’s anything we all need a little bit more of at the moment it would have to be kindness.

Celebrated each year on February 17th, Random Acts of Kindness Day is a versatile occasion meaning it could work for a number of different industries. From offering top tips, or even running a competition to find the UK’s kindest person – there’s so much that can be done!

ONS UK HOUSE PRICE INDEX, 17TH FEBRUARY

We’ve mentioned the monthly ONS House Price Index previously, but it’s a great reactive opportunity for any experts in the home, property, and finance industries!

Staying up to date with what’s going in your industry is key in remaining relevant and responding to the findings will help make your voice heard and get your name out there, as well as offering your expertise to others.

Be sure to check out the release here on Wednesday 17th February.

ONS UK RETAIL SALES, 19TH FEBRUARY

Similarly, the Office of National Statistics (ONS) is releasing both its Retail Sales Index on Friday.

Another great reactive opportunity, this time for experts in the retail sector, as this report gives a first estimate of retail sales in volume and value terms, seasonally and non-seasonally adjusted.

Head here for the the release on the 19th.
