It’s Friday again, which means it’s time to look at what’s coming up in the wonderful world of digital PR.

June has a lot to offer – from The Great British Spring Clean to Global Day of Parents – this week’s c3 round-p has you covered!

To help you keep up with June’s news and use the month to create excellent PR campaigns, here are some upcoming opportunities for you to explore.

THE GREAT BRITISH SPRING CLEAN – TODAY – JUNE 13TH

We’ve had ample opportunity to pull the sofa apart and vacc-up lost hair bobbles and sweet wrappers over the lockdown period and so, it is now time to turn out attention to the great outdoors.

The Great British Spring Clean urges you to help get Britain tidy, offering a rewarding two-week opportunity for everyone to get outside and clean up our favourite local natural beauty spots in time for summer!

This is a perfect PR opportunity for the domestic travel industry, wellness brands, or local businesses with a local audience as you can share key insights, raise awareness, and draw attention back to local areas.

NATIONAL CHILDREN’S GARDEN WEEK – MAY 29TH – JUNE 6TH

Over the past year, Brits up and down the UK have discovered a new-found appreciation for their at-home green space, or local community gardens.

National Children’s Gardening Week begins this Friday, and stretches all the way through to the following Sunday; offering a wonderful opportunity for those with children to get outside and maintain their outdoor space, whilst learning and appreciating the bloom of UK springtime.

National Children’s Gardening Week is a great opportunity for lifestyle brands, domestic home and garden brands, as well as local businesses with a demographic looking to be a recognised figure in their community.

It could be fun to create a ‘What can you find?’ piece for adults and children to use whilst exploring British springtime: a list of things to spot and tick-off as you go, which are often seen to appear around this time of year – this is both educational and fun!

GLOBAL DAY OF PARENTS – 1ST JUNE

This past year has seen parents across the world become overnight teachers, whilst parenting and remote working all at the same time! So, it goes without saying that mums and dads across the globe should have the recognition they deserve!

Parenting touches upon many areas of everyday life, so this global awareness day offers pockets of relevance for all kinds of industries and brands. From finance and homeware, to cards, travel and food, there’s plenty of opportunity for many niche markets to get involved and show some love!

BANK OF ENGLAND: CONSUMER CREDIT REPORT – JUNE 2ND

In the world of UK finance, June kicks off with a Consumer Credit Report by the Bank of England which offers insight into the UK’s borrowing and lending economy – an especially important topic as the UK eases out of lockdown restrictions and back to business-as-usual.

Released as 9.30am UK time, this is one to look out for if you’re working with mortgage, banking, or other financial services clients, as it could prove to be a juicy newsjacking opportunity.

You can find the BoE release at 9.30AM June 2nd, here.

NATIONWIDE’S HOUSE PRICING INDEX – JUNE 1ST.

As the ever-inflating price of housing in the UK storm the headlines, this house pricing index by Nationwide is not one to miss!

Released once a month, this index offers insight into growth of house prices broken down geographically, forecasts of annual and bi-annual growth and much more.

This report can not only offer a great opportunity for newsjacking, but also be topical for mortgage, home-development, and equity clients.

The full report by Nationwide can be found, here.
