With summer seeming like a distant memory, we’re here to cheer you up with some more exciting opportunities in the wonderful world of Digital PR. So, sit back, relax, and let’s see what’s in store between the 4th to the 10th of October.

MONDAY THE 4th OF OCTOBER – 10th OF OCTOBER – THE 23RD ANNUAL NATIONAL CURRY WEEK 2021

Whether it’s a Tikka Masala, Korma or Vindaloo, the UK loves a good curry! And we’re in luck because next week we are graced with the 23rd Annual National Curry Week. This not only honours the nation’s favourite cuisine (and celebrates and supports the Indian restaurant industry), but also raises money for poverty focused charities.

For clients in the hospitality sector, you could look to reveal the UK’s hottest tongues by running a survey. Or go a little bigger by running a competition where the winner gets to taste test the nation’s best curries!

More information can be found on this event, here.

MONDAY THE 4TH OF OCTOBER – WORLD ANIMAL DAY, INTERNATIONAL

Second in our round up is the very important World Animal Day. Started by Heinrich Zimmermann in 1925, the mission of this day is creating awareness and raising the status of animals to improve welfare standards worldwide. Celebrated differently in each country, the day seeks to educate and make the world safer for all animals.

It’s not breaking news that animal stories do well in the world of Digital PR, so this day not only gives you a good hook but also offers an amazing opportunity to spread the word and generate awareness.

TUESDAY THE 5TH OF OCTOBER – TRAVEL AND TOURISM REVIEW: OCTOBER 2021, UK

Released at 9:30 am on Tuesday morning, the October Travel and Tourism Review will be a fantastic newsjacking opportunity for anyone in the travel and tourism sector.

The aim of this release is to identify a set of recommendations on the scope of future improvements of travel and tourism statistics. Plus, it’s intended to be radical and ambitious in its approach.

As with all newsjacking opportunities, make sure you’re on your toes so your voice is heard first! You can check out the release, here, which will be published on Tuesday morning.

THURSDAY THE 7TH OF OCTOBER – NATIONAL POETRY DAY, UK

Roses are red, violets are blue, PR is great and so are you… I’ll stick to my day job!

Founded in 1994, #NationalPoetryDay is a UK-wide celebration of poetry that encourages all to enjoy, discover and share poetry. With this year’s theme being ‘choice’, the day aims to motivate those to read, write and share the artform.

So, whether you build a poetry competition or just reveal the cheesiest poems of all time, there are many different avenues you can explore. For more information on how you can get involved, you can visit the site here.

SUNDAY THE 10TH OF OCTOBER – WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY, INTERNATIONAL

Going into its 29th year, World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.

Being such an incredibly important topic, the build up to Sunday the 10th would be the perfect time to release any data or tips surrounding the conversation of mental health. So, whether you speak to wellness experts on the importance of wellbeing, or promote top tips on how to unwind at home or in the workplace, helpful content like this would certainly be invaluable.

And information on how you can donate and get involved can be found here.

Fingers crossed there’s a few ideas here that are useful for your week ahead. If you’d like to find out more about our recent PR work, head over to our PR page, or get in touch.
