Utilising celebrity interviews to build your brand
There are numerous ways to diversify your digital PR strategy and one of the more creative and engaging ways of doing this is through creating and outreaching celebrity interviews.
A celebrity, influencer or media personality can be contracted to be the voice and face of your digital PR campaign for a wide range of sectors. The celebrity will be briefed on your campaign before participating in an interview, which will be transcribed and crafted into a press release. Once all assets are finalised, they will be distributed to relevant media publications for outreach.
Why we do it
At C3, we conduct celebrity interviews to increase brand authority, connect with your target audience and get your brand media placements. Partnering with the right influential figures gives you a backstage pass to specific trending topics and access to exclusive content and insights that the media wants to cover – generating link building opportunities and awareness on high-DA publications.
Benefits
There are numerous benefits to conducting celebrity interviews.
High engagement
Whether its sports, reality TV or anything trending in the media, people follow celebrities! Most people are naturally drawn to content with celebrities, particularly when they open exclusively on a certain topic, which leads to higher click-through rates, shares and comments across news features. Since celebrity content is popular, journalists are also more likely to use your release and credit the source as your brand.
*Top Tip* – Host the full transcribed interview on a landing page on your brand’s site and ask journalists to link back to that page to credit the source of the interview, that way you’re creating an extra link building opportunity.
Trending topics
Celebrity interviews are a great way to align your product or service with what’s already in the current news cycle. Since celebrity content is sought after by journalists and loved by readers, it’s a great way to get covered by leading publications and put your brand at the centre of key cultural and trending moments. For example, an interview with a football pundit to discuss the current situation with a certain team or league or an influencer about a specific trend.
Increased brand visibility
By featuring a well-known celebrity, you can tap into a wider audience on a national scale. Using the status of a household name or well-known personality will springboard a story or campaign concept, positioning you in front of a larger audience that you wouldn’t have otherwise reached. This could start online, go to print, and even result in radio or TV coverage.
Social media engagement
It can work as a two-way street, since celebrities like being interviewed, and kept in the current news cycle, they are likely to share any coverage on their own social media platforms, which will position your brand in front of their followers, increasing views and engagement in the process.
How have we done it?
In July 2024 our wellness client interviewed Jamie Lomas in exchange for a product. As well as discussing Jamie’s wellbeing and fitness goals for health publications, it was reported that Jamie will be leaving the popular soap. We used this news hook, asking questions surrounding his retirement from the show, which allowed us to outreach to national media.
In 2023 our appliances client partnered with Baroness Karen Brady and kitted out her London flat, as well as securing an interview. The team were then able to outreach the interview to lifestyle and interiors publications, giving The Apprentice fans a sneak-peak into her lifestyle.
For our iGaming client, we worked with boxer Roy Jones Jr to share his boxing match predictions, as well as detailed insights into different fighters such as Tommy Fury, who was trending after a recent match.
