Increasing visibility and keyword rankings for target makeup terms in just three months

Increase in organic visibility

Look Fabulous Forever, a makeup brand for mature skin, approached us in May 2024 to run a three-month awareness-building project across June, July and August.

The objectives were to increase their brand awareness and build authority back to commercial categories on their site including the ‘makeup for older women’ page from relevant and new media domains alongside improve their rankings across core keywords.

With a specific focus on make-up and given we were approaching the summer season, our strategy consisted of three proactive press releases focusing on topics such as ‘sweat-proofing your makeup’, and ‘wedding looks’ alongside general tips and tricks.

The UK media landscape is fast-paced, to say the least, and the beauty sector is competitive.

To support our proactive press releases we also incorporated newsjacking into our strategy, utilising expert insight from the founder of Look Fabulous Forever, Tricia Cusden, on various trending make-up hacks which provided the media and our audience with the best advice they could possibly need to feel confident within their skin.

Driving 180% visibility increase by securing high-quality placements

Despite competing against household beauty names, and our products only appealing to a very specific demographic, we achieved standout results.

With a focus on quality, we built 16 results overall on brand-new domains including The Sun, GB News, Daily Mail and Your Coffee Break.

Over 3 months visibility followed a growing trend, and it was up by 180% since the start of May 2024, reaching an all-time high in July when we were two months into the project.

Positive keyword ranking improvements

Our target keywords ‘Makeup for older women’ and ‘Makeup for over 60s UK,’ went from p5  and p8 to p1 in the SERPs over the time frame among other positive movements.
